To The Rescue!

It's a blessing and a curse to be such an animal lover. It's so hard on me to see a stray or injured animal because I always want to take them home or make them better. Last night on my way home from Joseph's house at 12:30 AM I was almost to Slide and 98th Street when I found 2 dogs in the middle of the busy street. One was a small german shepard looking dog, and the other way a weiner dog. They both had on collars and the small one followed the bigger one around. I stopped in the middle of the street, not even in the turning lane (luckily since it was so late there weren't many cars.) I wasn't sure what I would do about the dogs, but I couldn't just let them get hit by a car. I opened my car door and tried to get the two dogs to jump inside my car. I had Tinkerbelle in my car also and wasn't sure how she would re-act to the new critters. The dogs wouldn't get in my car it was like they were just wanting to play. Some guy pulled up on the other side of the street and thought I had lost my dogs. We weren't sure what to do, so we just decided that if we drove off the dogs might head home. I saw them trot on to one of the residential streets and hopefully home. There was another incident where my cat found a baby bird and I saw him catch it, so I saved the bird but had no idea what to do with it. I ended up keeping it in a shoe box, under a heat lamp and hand feeding it every 1 to 2 hours with a medicine dropper. Even through the night. I was so stressed out, but losing all that sleep was so worth doing everything I could to try and save the birds life. When I have my own place I can only imagine how many strays I will try to rescue. Animals are my passion!
