Sick Day

Last night I began feeling a little under the weather and thought maybe it was just something I ate. I couldn't figure out if I was catching a bug, cramps, or maybe it would just pass. I drove home from Jospeh's house after laying on his couch maoning about how bad my stomach hurt for several hours. I managed to make it home although the 25 minute drive felt more like hours, and as soon as I got upstairs I had to run to the bathroom and the sickness came. Gross! I went to bed and set my alarm for work like usualy, and when 8:20 came I felt no better. No work for me today! (There was slight snow on the ground, how crazy!) Tinker was so excited that I got to spend the whole day with her, in bed! We slept till 1:00. Joseph being the sweet guy that he is agreed to bring me some lunch and I desperately wanted a sprite becuase that's what Mom alwats gave me when my stomach hurts. Poor guy, he tries so hard, but showed up with a diet Dr. Pepper becuase he knows thats usually my favorite. He has selective hearing. I think he ate most of my lunch because I just couldn't get hungry. Just having him come see me made me feel so much better! I would say there are a couple pros to being sick: 1) rest, 2) spending the day with my puppy and 3) jumping on the scales after a "sick day" is a major ego boost. (Even though I know those 4 lbs will be right back where they belong tomorrow.)

I went to see JUNO on Sunday afternoon. What a cute movie! The story line is not very detailed but there is tons of dry humor. I'm not sure how he manages, but Joseph was able to fall asleep in the middle of the movie theatre. I guess he didn't like the movie quite as much as I did!

To The Rescue!

It's a blessing and a curse to be such an animal lover. It's so hard on me to see a stray or injured animal because I always want to take them home or make them better. Last night on my way home from Joseph's house at 12:30 AM I was almost to Slide and 98th Street when I found 2 dogs in the middle of the busy street. One was a small german shepard looking dog, and the other way a weiner dog. They both had on collars and the small one followed the bigger one around. I stopped in the middle of the street, not even in the turning lane (luckily since it was so late there weren't many cars.) I wasn't sure what I would do about the dogs, but I couldn't just let them get hit by a car. I opened my car door and tried to get the two dogs to jump inside my car. I had Tinkerbelle in my car also and wasn't sure how she would re-act to the new critters. The dogs wouldn't get in my car it was like they were just wanting to play. Some guy pulled up on the other side of the street and thought I had lost my dogs. We weren't sure what to do, so we just decided that if we drove off the dogs might head home. I saw them trot on to one of the residential streets and hopefully home. There was another incident where my cat found a baby bird and I saw him catch it, so I saved the bird but had no idea what to do with it. I ended up keeping it in a shoe box, under a heat lamp and hand feeding it every 1 to 2 hours with a medicine dropper. Even through the night. I was so stressed out, but losing all that sleep was so worth doing everything I could to try and save the birds life. When I have my own place I can only imagine how many strays I will try to rescue. Animals are my passion!

The Loves of my Life

There are a few things in life that make me so happy, but I have two major loves in my life. These loves are in no particular order because there is no way I could possibly pick one over the other. Having these two important "people" in my life has enriched it in many more ways than I could ever imagine. A lot of people probably wouldn't understand how a person can have such a love and passion for a dog, but I know my life would not be the same without her. She is 14 lbs, black with white paws, and her breed is pretty much un-known. Some people say she looks like a whippet, but I just say she's an italian greyhound. I like to make her sound very fancy. To me it doesn't matter what she is, all I know is that she's PERFECT!!! I wouldn't give her up for the world. When will you ever find such a loyal companion that loves you no matter what, never gets angry with you, has an endless supply of kisses, and keeps me warm at night? Well I guess that's pretty similar to the other love of my life, Jospeh! (Besides the never getting mad at me part.) We have our occasional arguments, but we always get through them. Joseph is the other love of my life. He often gets jealous saying that I love the dog better than him, which is not true (most of the time.) Joseph and I have been together for almost 3 years now and how the time has flown by. It seems like not long ago we were still in the flirting, getting to know eachother stage. Now we pretty much know anything and everything about one another and it's hard for us to be embarrased in front of one another. He is my rock and my best friend. He is the one who is there for me no matter what, and the one I can always count on. No matter what is going on in my life, I know I can count on him to get me through anything. I could not ask for anything more from him and Love being in Love with him! Tinkerbelle and Joseph are the two most important things in my life and that will never change!

My Sister Got Hitched!

So something VERY exciting happened in December that we had all been waiting for for quite some time. My older and only sister got married. The wedding date was December 15th, of 2007. She and Eric had dated for 7 years before he finally decided to get up the nerve to propose. The wedding was a complete blast with dancing and fun at the reception. It was sooo great seeing some of my family I had not seen in a while and some old friends too. My neighbor from years ago came and I had not seen her in forever. She was like my second mom growing up and I missed her so much. I now have a hilarious brother-in-law who keeps me laughing. Her wedding was so much fun, I can't wait to have one of my own.

My First Blog!

What an exciting day! My very first blog. I got sucked into the fascinating world of blogging last week when I became obsessed with the blog of another lady that I don't really even know. It's more like a friend of a friend thing, but she is quite possibly the best blogger there ever was. There's no way I could fill her humongous blogging shoes, but I think it will still be fun to keep 2008 documented. I'll try to keep it as interesting as possible, but my life basically consists of work, work, hanging out with my boyfriend and dog, and going out on occasional weekends. How fascinating. But hey, that me and my life and I absolutly LOVE it!
