Lick-Or-Treat

I had to share some pictures of these little cuties all dressed up for Halloween. I don't think their costumes spooked anyone, but they sure looked cute.

Gina the Bee and Nugget the Pumpkin

Family Photo Time

Nugget was a great model in his costume. Better than his sister.
This is definently their personalities, Gina is mad and pouty and Nugget is happy go lucky!

Kim's Anual Halloween Party

Friday October 30th was Kim's anual Halloween party and once again it was a blast. The costumes get better every year and I love to see what everyone comes up with. The spooky snacks were endless and delicious. Thanks Kim for always going all out! We had a blast!

Here's everyone in their awesome costumes. Nick and Natalie as Alice and the Mad Hatter, Joe and I as The Birds and Bees, Jess as a Dallas Cowboy football player, Kim the witch, Lisa as a twirler, and Aaron and Lindsey as themselves.

Here's my favorite picture of my sweet husband dressed like a chicken. I love his smile!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!

Happy Halloween!!!

We had a pumpkin carving party at Homer and Cecilia's house on Wednesday before Halloween. There were tons of good food and Halloween treats. Adam and Meghan and Joseph's parents joined us for the party. My pumpkin I carved was a Pug and all the pumpkins turned out great.

Playing Catch Up

It has been entirely too long since my last post, so why not take the time catch up while I recover from getting my wisdom teeth out. The surgery actually went really well and only took about 45 minutes to finish. I have felt pretty good most of the day, just drowsy and sleepy. I thought I was doing so well that I think I moved around a little too much and made myself feel a little sick. Now I am sitting here on the couch, doing absolutely as little as possible and thought I would do a little blogging.

Joseph and I, and his parents took a fun trip to Vegas October 9th for fun and to celebrate Joe's birthday. I was a nice getaway and we had a great time. We went to a couple of small shows like Tony and Tina's Wedding, Price Is Right and we went and tried indoor skydiving. There was a lot of good food and shopping. We went to our favorite place in Vegas to eat called Hugo's that my Aunt introduced us to and hung out downtown at the Freemont Experience. We didn't have much luck at the casinos, but it was great spending time with loved ones.

Nuggett

We added a new member to our little family this weekend.

Meet Nuggett!

He is a male, tan Pug and he is already so well behaved at only 11 weeks old. He was born March 4, 2009. He was definently an impulse buy but we are already in love with him and Gina loves having someone more her size to play with.

He already fits in so well at our house and slept straight through the night the first night we had him. He slept right next to me in bed of course.

He got his first bath, got into my mom's pool, and went and played at the lake.

Maybe we will have little pug babies someday!

San Antonio

Memorial weekend Cecilia and I went to San Antonio to visit Mara and have a girls weekend. We had way too much fun. I visited the San Marcos outlet mall for the first time and that was a huge highlight to my trip. We went to the Coach outlet and bought the boys some new clothes from Polo. I even found a good deal on some Armani Khaki pants for Joseph to wear in our up-coming pictures next Monday. We had dinner on the River Walk one night and floated the river. What a fun time. I didn't get many pictures from the trip becuase I was memory card-less, but here are a few from Cecilia's camera!

A time for change...

There are a lot of changes going on right now at work, and home. This past weekend the salon I work at got a BIG re-model. We got all new styling chairs, shampoo bowls, dryer hoods, and stations should be coming soon. The new stuff looks great, it may just take me a while to adjust. I've been using the same things for 3 years. I must admit, I am a creature of habit and sometimes fear change, but so far so good. We have recieved good feedback from our clients and it has eased my mind a bit.

Change # 2: I finally have the long hair I have wanted for so long. Jessica put some semi-permanent extensions in my hair and I am loving them. They stay in for several months and you can wash and style your hair with them in. They have been a lot of fun so far. It will at least cure my hair boredom for now.

Change # 3: Still in progress... I have decided to try super hard to lose weight for the summer and to work out a lot more. I have really enjoyed bike riding lately and do that a lot when I don't want to be indoors or go to the gym. I have been on this program for 2 weeks and have only lost 4.4 lbs so far, but so far so good. My goal is 20-25 lbs (I think.) Wish me Luck!

A Wonderful Weekend with my Wonderful Hubby

I can't wait for our amazing weekend to begin. We are leaving Saturday after work to spend a few days in Ruidoso. I love it there. It's totally relaxing, beautiful weather, (no blowing dirt) and you can't beat the smell of those wonderful trees. Not to mention they have a casino there and I find myself a little addicted lately since we got back from Vegas with a great new game to play and a little winnings in our pockets. We will spend Saturday and Sunday night here.........a beautiful 2 story cabin with a hot tub and deck. I can't wait.

We will probably spend some time doing some of this.....

and maybe a tiny bit of this.....

Goodbye dirt blowing, windy Lubbock.... Hello peaceful, wonderful Ruidoso!

The Day I Married My Best Friend

Posted by Picasa
March 7, 2009.... The best day of my life. I was lucky enough on that day to join my best friend in marriage. The day was perfect. No stress, no disasters, just a little wind but that couldn't be enough to ruin my perfect day. The wedding was at 7:00 PM at Green Lawn Church of Christ with the reception right after at the Reese Center. It was so special and contrary to what everyone said, I didn't feel one bit of nervousness. I was excited and eager the whole time. Joseph on the other hand couldn't hide his nerves. On my walk down the isle he faked a yawn to conceal his tears. And yes I did win the bet that he would cry. It was so sweet. Luckily no one saw his yawn but me. Another of my favorite memories was after our kiss, he wiped his lips with his hand, yes in front of the whole audience. Laughter erupted, I was a little embarrased, but no big deal. After we walked out to the hallway after the ceremony, I witnessed a very precious moment. Although he would kill me if he saw this, I have to write it anyway. My dad was crying and it touched my heart. It made me tear up. The whole wedding was a success.
More pictures to come soon, and I will be posting about the reception whenever I get the pictures in!

Rehearsal and Dinner

Our rehearsal dinner began at 6:00 PM on March 6th. We had it at Green Lawn Church, where our wedding was held as well. We had the dinner catered by Orlando's. We had about 35 people including friends and family. We had a lot of family that came in from out of town that I had not seen in a long time. It was so great catching up with everyone. We walked through the ceremony a couple times and got all the kinks worked out, then had a great dinner. It was such a great time.

Wedding Decorations

Posted by Picasa
The colors of our wedding were cream, lime green, and black. Joseph and I worked really hard on all the decorations. The church was decorated with pillars, tulle and lights with a lime green isle runner customized with our initials and wedding date.
We decorated the reception with alternating center pieces. We used cylinder, tall vases filled with limes and a cream candle with decorative paper and ribbon in our colors. The second centerpiece we did was a green and black flower pot and a bare tree branch painted white in it. Each tree branch had a hanging ornament and cream beads on it.
We had a candy bar that had 6 vases filled with all different candies. Everything turned out really great and we had so much fun decorating it all.

Why I Love My Husband

I have been married for almost a month now and life is great. I LOVE my husband so much.

1. He helps me do dished, laundry, and clean the house.

2. He is a great DOG Dad!

3. He let me paint our living room purple and lets me decorate however I want.

4. He even help me paint the purple.

5. Joseph is such a great achiever. He opened his own business at 20 and owned 2 houses by the time he was 21.

6. My hubby always takes care of me.

7. We love all the same shows and he always lets me choose what to watch.

8. Joseph always does things for me, around the house, or out and about.

9. He loves me unconditionally.

10. I love that Joseph always thinks about our future and has HUGE dreams. No goal is ever too far out of reach for him!

I am so lucky to have found my soul mate and to be able to marry my best friend. Thank you so much for what you do for me and for always loving me! I love you Joseph!

Bridal Photo Session

I know these pictures are WAY over due, but life has been crazy busy with the wedding and all. Now that's it over we can resume life as usual and I can catch up on everything. Here are some of my favorite pictures from my bridal session. It was a lot of fun. We started at a place across from the Windmill Museum in a tree filled area, then went to an abandoned drive in burger place. A friend of my mom's brought her beautiful old mustang. I wanted to do a lot of car pictures since that is such a huge part of Joseph's life. We finished at a house on 1585 and Slide Road that has a whole lot of old cars. I absolutly loved the looks of the old car in the front yard. All in all the day was fabulous and the weather was great, even though the start of the week was cold.

My Bachelorette Party!

WOW! What a fun night! It kicked off around 7 PM at my sister's house. There were lots of fun people there. We had lots of good food, a great cake, chocolate fountain, and good drinks. They threw me a lingerie shower and I got so many wonderful things. My hostesses gave me a Tiffany's bracelet with my new "married" initials on it HKH and I absolutly LOVE it! They know me so well and knew I wanted one. I loved all my gifts, I am so lucky to have such great friends and family.

After the gifts were opened, we played some really fun (and funny) games. It was so great. At 10:30 PM a limo arrived to pick us up for a night on the town. We went to Klusoz for about half an hour, then on to my new FAVORITE place... Club Heaven. It is just way to entertaining there. Everyone is so nice and I just love it. Everyone else seemed to enjoy it as well. We all agreed we can't wait to go back. We ended the night at Daquari Lounge and headed back home about 2:30. It was a blast. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with me! Here are some pictures from the night!
